Emmett Index, January 13, 1903
W. M. Wayman, vice-president and general manager of the Farmers' Co-operative Irrigation company was in Emmett several days last week. Mr. Wayman says his company will make extensive improvements in their syster this year. New headgates of the latest improved patter will be put in and a substantial dwelling house erected for the keeper. The ditch will be enlarged and the banks strengthened and graded up to 30 feet in width. The county wagon road will occupy the lower bank. In some places where there is large fills, a concret waterway will be put in. Many substantial improvements were made on this ditch last year and the results were so satisfactory that the company have determined to put the system in as nearly perfect condition as possible, regardless of expense. Patrons of this ditch will be assured of a service equal to any in state.
